Mark 2

Jesus was in a house teaching. Even religion scholars were there listening. The place was so packed, the entrance was blocked. Some people lowered a paralegic thru the roof… Which is pretty metal. Forgiving sins was the first offense to the religion scholars, because only God could do that. But Jesus stood by it and also healed the paraplegic. (Mark 2:1-12)

New disciple is called: Levi the tax collector. And Jesus’ crew of followers included “disreputable people”… religion scholars and Pharisees didn’t like that either. But Jesus stood by them and considered himself as a doctor to the sin sick. (Mark 2:13-17)
People commented that Jesus’s followers didn’t fast like John’s and the Pharisees do. Jesus says there is a time to feast and a time not to. This is a time to celebrate. (So rolling with Jesus at that time was supposed to be a big party.) (Mark 2:18-20)

Jesus gets called out again when his disciples are walking through a field, plucking and eating wheat. Jesus stands by them by directly addresses Sabbath–the rest day–as being made to serve man, not the other way around. (Mark 2:23-28)
So in this chapter, Jesus is criticized for forgiving sins, the company he keeps, feasting, and not observing Sabbath.
